Health and Safety

Editing

When editing it is important to:
  • take regular breaks for around 5 minutes every half an hour
  • alternate display-screen work with other work whenever possible
  • do regular stretches and exercises
  • have access to natural light
  • be wary of electrical failures as they can overheat and cause fires

Locations

When working on location it is important to:
  • be wary of the weather as rain or snow may disrupt the use of electrical equipment
  • wear protective clothing suitable to that area e.g insulated coat
  • be careful when working near any bodies of water as there is a risk of drowning
  • have a first aid kit nearby in case of an accident
  • obey any rules e.g no smoking

Equipment

When using the film equipment it is important to:
  • keep any electrical items away from liquid as they can inflict electric shocks and burns
  • secure any larger stands, such as a tripod, so they are at no risk of falling over
  • plan for the amount of battery life needed
Personal Safety

For our trailer I will be acting as the cannibal in the kitchen scene and providing the barn backdrop. When acting I must be careful of the knife as it may be little sharp and when applying the fake blood I must make sure I  am not allergic to any ingredients it contains or accidentally ingest any of it. Also when taking the fuel image I need to think about my surroundings and have another student with me to warn me of cars or wildlife.
it’s needed for mental and physical health;
