Recce Report

Running Scene

There are 4 locations needed for our trailer, a forrest, a field, a kitchen and a road. The forrest shot can be taken outside college as it simple to get to and requires no travelling. The lighting will be fairly dark as we will be covered by the shadows of the trees, plus we will be shooting in autumn so sun light is limited. We will also record the running sound effect with a mic during this time. This area can be accessed any time during college hours so will be shot during lesson time. The shot will consist of the actor running down a path, being followed by the camera man.

Risk Assessment (Woods)

The risks in this area include slipping on the wet ground, tripping over branches or running into low hanging vines. To overcome these, before shooting we will clear a path for both the actor and camera man to run. There is also the risk of the camera being dropped and damaged, so the camera man will be wearing the strap at all times.

Barn Green Screen

The second location needed is a field which will be used as a backdrop for the barn on fire scene, this will be fairly simple to get as one student lives close to fields and can take a photo from a public footpath, so no permission is required. This area is fairly open meaning it should be well lit. It's  a simple shot; just a photo of the field with no buildings in frame.

Risk Assessment (Field)

To be safe when taking the image, make sure you stand away from any water and are in a field free from aggressive wildlife such as cows with young. Also when staring near roads, be wary of oncoming traffic.

Hand Cutting Scene

For the prolonged kitchen scene we are filming in one member of the group's house and it should be easy to do as we only need to use a small section of the room, and the fake blood and ketchup shouldn't be too messy. Artificial light will be used for this scene. The camera with move up with use of the tripod.

Risk Assessment (Kitchen)

To ensure a safe working environment, the knife used must be blunt as to not cut yourself or the actor, also when making the fake blood people involved must check they are not allergic to any of the ingredients.

Car Crash Green Screen

The final location is a road, which can be shot anywhere as long as there are no large industrial buildings nearby, so a country road would be best. Of course the photo must be taken whilst there is no traffic and should be shot in the daytime to produce the best lighting.

Risk Assessment (Road)

When taking the photo, wear a high-visibility jacket and have two other group members at either end to check there are no cars coming.
